Initial Flood Watch For Tanami Desert

FLOODING POSSIBLE IN CENTRAL PARTS FROM TUESDAY.
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Esther is expected move into the southern Gregory District or northern Tanami District from the west as tropical low on Tuesday.
Some parts of the Tanami Desert received rainfall earlier this season but most areas are very dry from below average rainfall to date.
Rainfall is expected to increase from Monday with widespread daily totals of 50 - 80 mm and isolated falls of 150 mm.
Many roads in the flood watch area can be expected to be affected from Monday and become impassable and some communities and homesteads may become isolated.
